Hi SNO, looking forward to seeing how this latte panda board runs. I have been looking at these on line for a while now and reading various forums. I also noticed your other post on the board.
One of my main points of interest is how long it takes to respond to the power on enable line.
There are a lot of small mini PCs out there and almost everyone I have looked at take from 3 to 5 seconds to respond, which is ridiculous. The simple startup/shutdown scheme I currently use with my small Ainol mini build has been 100% faultless.

Looks like it's a one second press for power on, hopefully this is indeed the case. One thing I'd love to know when you get the time is how long it takes to resume from Hibernate under Win10, this device really looks like an ideal solution in so many ways, I hope it is as stable and as quick to power up and resume as the Ainol, once that is set up correctly it is 100% rock solid. In theory the LattePanda board should be even better.

I will be watching...
Will be interesting to see how well this works. I could end up duplicating your setup too...
This works in a standard dual din?
I think I have the same setup on a screen I own but don't think mine is the full box but just the front piece.
Don't think it would replace my i5 but never know.
Doesn't appear to have a SATA port so only micro sd...

Or possibly an SSD on USB3, my SSDs although a few years old and not the latest, run around 400MB/s read/write over USB3. Also looking forward to a full review after SNO gets it all sorted.

This one I bought has 64gig on board and it also has micro SD slot. Plus USB3 if you need more storage. SNO

Well done SNO, I have some extremely fine cable on hand for this very situation, I leave slack and then fix it to a nearby PCB mounting bolt or similar location. Would love to know the resume from Hibernate time (Win10) with the 64GB unit, that is if you ever get the time.
Mike.

Thanks Mickz I really need better lighting here and also need new glasses. The wire I had on hand was really too big for such a small pad. I think this 1 pad is like 1mm sq. I was really surprised I actually connected to the pad. I did have to use magnifying glass to do as good as I got it.

Next short coming is related to the on board audio or lack of. It has an audio jack but it is pinned out in cita format here is a pic of the correct pinout. I should also note it is only a mono mic input and that is the only audio input. I will be using the ADS Instant FM unit since it works in Driveline and does not need audio input since it uses usb.

Making some headway, so much extra space available. Power is in and split to have 5v and 12v available inside. Ethernet re-routed to the back of case. Audio output wired to the amp. I am waiting on some harnesses to have for the external speakers from amp. The latte panda requires 2.3amp power supply so I am using the standard CPT 12v(auto) to 5v 3amp regulator. I have also added the 12v(auto) output via the back for when its being bench tested and can be powered by an AC brick.

GPS installed and 4 port hub also relocated the USB3 to back of case. Now I have to wait for ADS Instant FM and speaker wire harness. SNO

Looking good. There seems to be quite a bit of room in there. Just in case you didn't know, the processor is on the bottom side of the board. From the pics it looks like you have no cooling or heatsink on that side. You might want to address that before you get too far. I had a friend 3D print me one of these www.thingiverse.com/thing:1605660. It looks awesome and works really good. I did make some changes though. I used a 60mm fan instead of the 50mm. I found one on Quietpc.com that had great airflow and is really quiet. www.quietpc.com/na-ds-60. They are thicker that the original design, but I used 40x40x10mm heatsinks instead of the 20mm thick in the original design. There is barely enough room. It's also too close to the 3-pin plugs to even think about using those. I do have to say that my touchscreen connector broke. I installed the cable, tested it, then attempted to open the connector, and the flip handle broke off. Now the touchscreen is useless. Unfortunately I already stuck the overlay to the screen. Kind of a bummer. Good luck!
