Help me work this out.
I want to be able to stream from my phone (Iphone 6s), receive and answer calls, listen to FM radio, have an automatic backup camera, and use voice commands as much as possible. (I love Google's voice integration much more than what SIRI can do.) I haven't really explored Cortana yet...... maybe I should? I want an IPS capacitive touch 7" display mounted in a 2-DIN housing. I have a Sony wired control and an interface for it to send keyboard commands to the processor (no steering wheel controls, but the truck is small and the head unit is near the steering wheel.)
I've been looking at a SBC solution, but the only ones getting REAL support are the Ras-pi boards, and even the Pi3 is too slow. If the UP-board had support I'd consider it, same with the Latte Panda or the Udoo xu4.
I like the looks of the Joying Sofia 2G units since I REALLY like Android for the car, but they have their issues with FM, heat, and sound quality. I like the all-in-one hardware aspect a lot, though.
The major audio units are expensive and sluggish, but have good radios, sound quality and bluetooth integration as a rule at the higher end.
I'm leaning towards just buying a small-form x86 Atom board, 4 channel amp, GPS puck and Directed HD radio and going with DriveLine based on what I know I will end up with.
Thoughts??

I've been pretty happy with my tablet. It was cheap and easy (-ish), so it let me focus on other things.

There are lots of new small atom boards, even I-series too. I just grabbed a new box from china that is really something, It's an i3-4010u fanless, 4gig ram and 64 gig msata, sata ports to add another HD/SSD for storage, solid metal case, 7 usb ports and 2 serial. Windows7-10 The size is approx. 10"x6"x2" Although it's not small enough to install in a double din case it is rugged enough to install in a similar place like an amp.

Nice unit, but overkill for my needs, and a bit big. Good for a truck, though. A sturdy unit with lots of ports.

I tore into the truck to replace the failed manual window winder on the drivers side. I bought 2 power window regulators and a switch kit, along with some cheap door lock motors and a Directed remote start/keyless entry unit. I also needed a bypass module to get around the Passlock system. While I had the door panels apart I threw in new speakers.
I hate working on newer vehicles with Canbus. It took forever to find a hot wire to use for the window winder lights. Everything goes through the body control module. PIA.
Hooking up the lock motors was a bigger challenge than I thought, too, but it's all playing nice-nice. I just need to hook in to the column wires now and mount the two control boxes. The window switches look nice and appear to be well made. Looks pretty stock. It's great to have power windows. It was such a pain to reach across to unlock the door or struggle to wind down the window.
Still waffling on what I'll stick in the 2din. For now the factory head unit is gonna have to do.
