Yes I did see the post, thanks. I have installed a small fan with side discharge from an old video card. I should have taken a picture of it before I glued it down. I have another panda coming in so I will be able to take a picture before I glue that in.

I just found out an interesting fact, that the latte panda micro SD card slot supports up to 2TB cards I like this option for sure. SNO

Here is the fan I used on the bottom CPU area and I drilled holes in the bottom of the case for the air to escape. the other shot is the latte panda fan on the top ram area. Personally I find that if you give good power to the board the heat is not so much an issue. SNO

I can't seem to get to the forum anymore. My Mcafee is reporting that Lattepanda.com's forums are unsafe. They say that they have a "High Risk" Web reputation, but show that they have no online affiliations.
I did get through earlier, somehow, and inquired about info to get an RMA to send my LP back for repair. They said that the touchscreen connector is an FPC connector, 6 pin, 0.1 pitch. We'll see what it takes to send it back for repair. I ordered it April 29th.

They sent me some latches for my touchscreen, thinking that I'd be able to snap in a new flip latch. Well, there appears to be two different styles. There is the black flip latch, as seen on the Docs of the Lattepanda website, and then there is mine which has a white flip lever instead of black. It's hard to tell from your pictures, but I believe your latch is white as well. Can you confirm?
I've emailed them again, maybe they have some white flip latches they can send me. If not, I'll have to attempt to de-solder my connector and try to solder in a new one. They did send three connectors. If only I can do it without overheating the board and lifting the pads... I've got an adjustable Weller Iron.

Cool, Thanks for checking. I'm waiting for a response from Lattepanda to see if they have the all white connectors they can send me loose.
Did you ever get any feedback on the 2TB MicroSD card compatibility? I have not attempted to plug in my 128GB for a while. Have you tried any cards over 64GB?
Thanks SNO!

Can't you just get a good fit with ribbon cable and hot melt glue it in place? I have not heard back from anyone on the real capacity of tf card, I also don't have anything over 32gig at the moment to test with. Mind you if I need more space than the 64gig on board and 32 gig in tf slot I will add external ssd via usb3. But really I don't need that much space for on the road. SNO

From what I can tell, that flip lever puts pressure on the pins and makes the connection. If I slide the cable in, it does not make connection. But now that you mention it, I could put the black latch in and test it to see that it works. I was able to tug the cable out of the plug, but I wonder if it's making connection. In that case I could hot glue it just to make certain it didn't pull out.
As far as the card. I have more music than will fit on a 64GB card. Not that I need it all, but call it a picky little thing to have my entire connection with me. I also have my entire collection on an external SSD that I can plug in, but I was hoping not to burn a USB port for the hard drive. I suppose it really doesn't matter as I'll probably need a hub anyway. With only 3 ports, I was hoping to use one for a little keyboard, one for a GPS puck, and one for a USB sound card.
Now I gotta go test my touchscreen.
Thanks for the idea!

OK, after taking a very close look at that connector with a powerful magnifying glass I see that there are essentially two sets of points coming out the back of that connector. One that gets soldered down to the board, and one that actually goes through very small holes in the latch. If the latch is out of your connector, you would have to put it back in from the horizontal plane. Straight in from the back of the connector. Not down into the connector from the vertical plane. My connector on my board is toast. I can't tell if the little pins that would stick through the flip latch are gone or just bent down. Looks like I'm going to have to try the soldering iron.

Man that double din case and monitor look so nice! Was the monitor/touch made to work with only that pc board though? I'm having a very hard time finding a good capacitive touch that fits into a double din without doing any fabrication/modifications... But I wouldn't want to be held captive to the latte panda board. For some reason anytime I look around I always end up back to this (I remember this from the mp3car forums): www.chalk-elec.com/?page_id=1283#!/7-open-frame-universal-HDMI-LCD-with-capacitive-multi-touch/p/21750207/category=3094861 I assume that pretty much any open frame 7" could fit the double din?

Really you can't beat this latte panda 4/64, its fast as all hell and stable with right power supply. The monitor is basically setup for the latte panda not sure on ribbon cable pin count. If you stayed with this complete setup you will have a reasonably fast pc and a great screen. And the bonus of lots of room inside double din case. SNO
