I am waiting on parts for a few different projects so I thought I would post some updates on this unit I am slowly putting together. It is using the Bybyte Double Din case(old size) with a high end Advantech PCM-9363D Intel D525 Atom dual core, 4gig ddr3 it comes with a CF reader underneath but I am not going to use it. I tried a Silicon Power 400x 32gig CF. It installed fine but once updates were done the speed dropped to unusable. I tried a Kingston 600x 32gig CF but it has the boot byte disabled so it would not get recognized by windows during installation. So I have gone with an 1.8" Intel 80gig ssd. In this box I am going for a mostly complete system. Mainboard, HD radio, XM radio, small 50w 4 channel amp, usb-dc-dc power supply and Adafruit Ultimate GPS module. For Screen I am using the Advantech 7" C-IDK1107WP50WS-01 500nits high brightness 1024x600 4 point multi touch using LVDS. This package is not the cheapest of hardware but this box is going for Quality all the way. I find the biggest issue in putting everything inside this case is cables and having to make or modify them to length. SNO Mainboard Mainboard mounted inside and XM serial cable connected to the com port HD radio with housing off and modified Antenna Cable XM radio with housing off USB-DC-Dc power supply no case and output power connector removed and wires soldered direct to board the 50 watt 4 channel AMP and Adafruit's Ultimate GPS board

Not seen is the WiFi and Bluetooth mini pci card underneath the mainboard. This unit will not have my all in one board so I will be only using the Scantool's MX Bluetooth OBD2 dongle. The little piece of metal on the inside of the case is for the AMP's now missing heatsink. The GPS will use an external connected Antenna, the wifi and Bluetooth will be built inside the case. HD will be using Mitch's USB cable just heavily shortened (wish he didn't use silicone to secure the wires) The XM will be serial as well as the GPS direct via DB9 connectors. I will expose 2 usb 2.0 ports out the back of the case. The biggest issue as I mentioned before is cables and also this board uses 2.0mm pitch pins so that makes for small work. SNO

Nice build!
But your right, over-length cables are always an issue. I imagine they really restrict air flow if enough extra cable is bundled up inside the case and they certainly make the box hard to work on.

Well I received the monitor today, but very disappointed in the build of this. Not the screen itself but the touch overlay glass. the glass sits 4mm higher than the screen and 3.5mm to the left of the screen. So instead of being the standard size, it is odd and won't fit in the case. very stupid and I can see no purpose for it to be this way. Of course phone back the sales office they have no clue or can provide any help or reasoning behind this off-set glass. I had them check other stock and they are all like that. I was hoping it was a mis-positioned touch screen overlay. Now I have another screen on order but it won't be of the same quality.

Hi Snow, I know it was quite a while ago but can you remember if the 4channel 50W amp board you used was a TDA7850 ? I'm looking at changing out my dual 2channel amps for this one TDA7850 4x50W Amp + BA3121 Denoiser
