forget about the scc1 those are crazy prices for them. get the xmd-1000 you can find those for 45 bucks and you can make the cable and use ftdi usb-serial adapter. It's a much cheaper solution to the same end result. SNO

I just hunted down the serial HD radio cable in a box I have and will get pin out, no circuitry in it like the usb one. Then you just need to use ftdi serial-usb converter. SNO

Thanks SNO! I will find a serial to USB adapter.
As far as the Sirius module. Yeah, I saw it on their website too. I was just trying to pay less that $60 for it. I figure, based on the level of activity over the years, there have been a lot of car PCs decommissioned and I could get one cheaper from someone here.
I am not married to the idea of Sirius, and would consider XM, but read somewhere on the other forums that XM does not support album art, which is important to me. However, I still have gotten an answer as to whether the SCC1 supports it either.
