I need BlueSoleil for phone support but then I can't get the OBDLink MX Bluetooth Scan Tool working. It seems like the BlueSoleil software is not allowing the OBDwiz software to communicate with it. It sees it but can't connect to it. (It is paired) I tried via Bluetooth and comports with no luck
I thought maybe I could use 2 Bluetooth dongles one for BlueSoleil and the other without BlueSoleil for use with the OBDII, but I don't see a way to separate them. Anything I'm missing?
I can use the OBDLink MX Bluetooth Scan Tool with OBDwiz software and a laptop without BlueSoleil and it works.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I use blue Soleil for phone audio and obd simultaneously all the time with my obd link mx bt.
What os you on? What car PC software?
After pairing with the obd link you may need to manually connect to the serial port once through blue Soleil.

Thanks for the clarification that you have it working. It’s on a Win 7 machine I need to look into it more and see what is going on. Right now I am just trying to get it working without a frontend, using the standalone OBDwiz software and then I will try to get it working in RR first and then Driveline. I did connect to the com port through BlueSoleil.
Driveline I am still new too and need more time playing around with it

Agreed get it working outside of the front-end first.

I'm not sure what's going on because if I remove BlueSoleil it works in the OBDwiz software, RR & Driveline.
What version of BlueSoleil are you using?

I try to stay on the latest Blue Soleil, 10.0.497 I think.
In Blue Soleil: Right-click on the OBD Link, and choose Search Services. It should find at least 1. If not, unpair, delete, re-pair. Right-click on the OBD Link again, and choose Connect Serial Port. Windows may do some driver stuff when you do this the first time. With the serial port connected in Blue Soleil, open the OBD Wiz software and tell it to connect to the serial port. Make sure you are connecting to the correct port. It may be a different COM port number.

It finds the one service and says it is connected to port 5 etc. Then in the taskbar, it says A Bluetooth serial port outgoing connections is established on COM5. Then in the OBDwiz it says An error has occurred connecting. Error connecting. This stack does not use sockets or sometimes it says A communication error has occurred etc. I'm thinking of uninstalling BS again but this time remove any registry entries that are left in that I can find and start over and see if that helps.

It sounds like you may have the original Bluetooth drivers for your Bluetooth device already loaded, that's why it works when you uninstall bluesolei it works in obdwiz and RR and DL. Try un-installing the original drivers and then install bluesolei Hope this helps SNO

Finally, it's working, at least for now. Not sure what I did besides rinse lather & repeat. I never deleted the drivers but I did unpair, pair and find services & connect to the serial port like I did many times, but its working now.
Thanks everyone
