What backup camera (system) works with Driveline? We have a camera that plugs in to lcd driver board but that does not integrate with Driveline. So what do we need to interface with Driveline?

Any USB camera should work. I use a cheap webcam for testing on my PC. On my laptop, DriveLine can use the built-in camera in the laptop. On my tablet both cameras (front and back) are recognized (but the tablet presents rotation issues).
The hard part is finding a good US webcam that doesn't go blind in sunlight.

For the heck of it we will try an RCA composite to USB video adapter to see if our current license plate mounted camera can talk to Driveline. Parts are on order.

Test one failed. We tried a NTSC license plate backup camera converted to USB with a Hauppauge 610 USB-Live 2 Analog Video Digitizer. Using the Hauppauge software we got nice clear video. The Hauppauge showed up under D/L camera selection and is selecable but trying to use it crashed D/L. More details if anyone wants them. Next up is an cheapo composite to USB device as soon as it goes through decontamination in China.

I assume that there is a particular reason you are trying to use a composite camera?
If so, you could run it into the LCD driver board, and maybe use some logic in your Arduino to trigger your reverse input to the Driver board if you want to turn the camera on at will. Otherwise just leave it as reverse only.
Or are you specifically trying to get some functionality in Driveline?

For what it's worth, the other day, I ordered for my 2005 Toyota Tacoma. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DCRIS1U/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Master Tailgaters Replacement for Toyota Tacoma 2005-2014 Black Tailgate Backup Reverse Handle with Camera I'm still rocking the factory radio in the truck, so there is no screen. I've got a little composite screen I plan to use for the time being. I just got tired of needing either two people to hook up my trailer, or getting out a few times to check where I'm at. I'll eventually change the radio out of there. I have not decided which route to go. 1. Lattpanda build like yours. 2. Raspberry Pi Android Auto 3. Some Pioneer or Sony Double DIN unit With options 1 and 3, the composite camera will be fine. With the Raspberry Pi, if I use the Official Raspberry Pi screen, that's a problem, as the units I've seen on YouTube use the Raspberry Pi camera, not composite. But if I use a generic display, then I'll get that composite input like on your screen. But at least I'll have the handle, and it's got a nice mount for the camera. Maybe, if I have to, I could adapt the Pi camera to the mounts in the handle. Then I'd also have to use a CSI to HDMI extender. There were cheaper handles, and more expensive ones. But since this is Amazon, hopefully if I need to return it, it will be easy. And the reviews were not bad.

I assume that there is a particular reason you are trying to use a composite camera? ANS It has been hard to find a USB waterproof camera that can be mounted low in the cars rear (external) to get good backup info. Most aftermarket backup cameras are composite video. USB works nicely with Driveline. If so, you could run it into the LCD driver board, and maybe use some logic in your Arduino to trigger your reverse input to the Driver board if you want to turn the camera on at will. Otherwise just leave it as reverse only. ANS the display board will auto switch to AV1 (or AV2) vice HDMI from the LP Delta when backing up so that is doable but the video quality suffers from car electrical noise (long run of the video signal) and of course I lose the display of Driveline while backing up. Or are you specifically trying to get some functionality in Driveline? ANS See first ans. Still waiting to try another converter board.

The generic composite video to USB adapter from Ali Express works just fine with the license plate camera and DriveLine on our test bed.

Care to link the el-cheapo converter that works for reference?
