it almost broke my heart when i did a search of my old project, mp3car.com/show-off-your-project/137709-2001-mustang-gt.html which resulted in PAGE NOT FOUND. anything and everything you needed to know about carPC was right at your fingertips...but yea, i saw it coming too, i just didn't think it would die a horrible death. Good to see some people here around still

I just pulled a car out of storage, and repaired the OS on my carputer. I also remember Mp3car.com being super helpful and I'm bummed they're gone. In fact I think I bought the Gigabite brick I use and the power supply through them. Ironically I was trying to gain info on the very thing that may have killed them. Has anyone installed Android Auto on a carputer to have it operate like one of those android auto head units they sell these days? All my Garmin software is outdated, and it just seems like everything would be easier if I could just plug in my phone and use the carputer as an Android Auto interface.

I still use GarminPC (Que.exe) in Windows10 for my CarPC. Yes it is a bit graphically not as nice as google maps but I get map updates for it here in AUS for about $20/yr so I keep using it. Not fussed for pretty graphics as I'm not supposed to be looking at the screen while driving anyway

Not fussed for pretty graphics as I'm not supposed to be looking at the screen while driving anyway Well I have a JVC head unit with Android auto in my daily driver, and it's easy to navigate the controls, and becomes somewhat intuitive. It's not so much about pretty graphics as much as I couldn't imagine going back to navigating a windows PC when I'm used to "Ok Google, take me to ..."
EDIT: But also I need the PC to run the ECMlink software.
